As a foreigner living in Phan Thiet, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Phan Thiet if they have access to public healthcare in Phan Thiet. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Phan Thiet, you will have access to public healthcare. However, the quality of public healthcare in Vietnam may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. Public hospitals and clinics can be crowded, and the staff may not speak English fluently. Additionally, the facilities and equipment may be outdated, and there might be a shortage of certain medications. Many foreigners living in Vietnam choose to use private healthcare facilities or travel to larger cities like Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi for more advanced medical treatments. It is recommended to have comprehensive health insurance that covers medical evacuation in case of serious illness or injury," remarked another expat who made the move to Phan Thiet, Vietnam.
