As a foreigner living in Chisinau, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Chisinau if they have access to public healthcare in Chisinau. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Chisinau, you will have access to public healthcare, but the quality and availability of services may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. Public healthcare in Moldova is known to be underfunded and understaffed, with outdated equipment and facilities. Many locals and expats prefer to seek private healthcare or travel to neighboring countries for more advanced medical treatments. It is highly recommended to have comprehensive health insurance to cover any medical expenses and potential evacuation to a nearby country with better healthcare facilities," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Chisinau, Moldova.
