What do people like (and dislike) about Sharjah?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads what they like and dislike about living in Sharjah, they replied...

"Expats and digital nomads living in Sharjah, often appreciate the lower cost of living compared to neighboring Dubai, as well as the more traditional and cultural atmosphere. They enjoy the beautiful architecture, such as the Al Noor Mosque and the Sharjah Art Museum, and the numerous parks and green spaces. The city is also known for its safety and cleanliness, which is a significant advantage for many expats. On the other hand, some expats and digital nomads may find the strict adherence to Islamic customs and laws to be restrictive, particularly regarding alcohol consumption and public displays of affection. The hot and humid climate can be challenging for some, especially during the summer months. Additionally, traffic congestion and limited public transportation options can make commuting difficult. Finally, while there are job opportunities in Sharjah, they may be more limited compared to Dubai, which could be a disadvantage for some expats and digital nomads," said another expat in Sharjah, the UAE.
