What are medical services in San Pedro La Laguna like?
When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in San Pedro La Laguna, they replied...
"Medical services in San Pedro La Laguna, are relatively limited compared to larger cities. The town has a few small clinics and pharmacies that provide basic healthcare services, including general consultations, minor treatments, and medications. For more specialized care or serious medical conditions, residents and visitors often need to travel to larger cities like Panajachel or Guatemala City. It is also important to note that medical staff in San Pedro La Laguna may not be fluent in English, so communication could be a challenge for non-Spanish speakers," said another expat in San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala.
"I have US health insurance that I use on visits to the US. You can get basic care here, but anything more usually means a trip to the capital or Xela," wrote a member who made the move to San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala.
