"My experiences with the local healthcare system in Playa Jaco during the pandemic have been positive overall. The healthcare system has been very responsive to the needs of the community, providing timely and effective care to those who need it. The healthcare professionals have been very knowledgeable and helpful, providing clear and concise information about the virus and how to protect oneself. The government has also been proactive in providing resources to the community, such as free testing and access to medical supplies. Overall, the healthcare system in Playa Jaco has been well-prepared to handle the pandemic and has been a great source of support for the community," remarked another expat who made the move to Playa Jaco, Costa Rica.
"During the COVID 19 pandemic, prescriptions that needed to be filled by the local national care program (CAJA) were home delivered. At the present time, prescription refills are completed over the telephone. When picking up prescriptions at the local public healthcare facilities, there are strict guidelines to follow, a nurse and security is stationed at the entrance to the facility to ensure health guidelines are followed," explained one expat living in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica.
