"When looking for housing in Chiang Mai, it is important to research the area thoroughly and visit the property in person before signing a lease. It is also important to be aware of the local laws and regulations regarding renting and leasing. Additionally, it is wise to negotiate the rent and other terms of the lease with the landlord before signing. It is also recommended to ask for references from previous tenants and to check the condition of the property before signing the lease. Finally, it is important to be aware of the cost of living in Chiang Mai and to budget accordingly," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
"In Thailand one cannot own property, hence purchasing house not possible unless married to a local person," commented one expat who made the move to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
