When we asked people living in San Miguel de Allende about the social scene there, they described it saying...

"Expats in San Miguel de Allende recommend conducting thorough research before signing a lease. They suggest visiting the neighborhood and the house more than once before committing, and asking renters for references from previous occupants. It's also important to understand what's included in the rent, such as utilities and internet access. Additionally, they suggest being aware of local rental regulations and tenant rights," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

"I glad I rented a furnished house and kept my condo in California. It allowed me to literally flee Mexico when the pandemic first hit, and go home to where I had health insurance, doctors and access to better health care. I totally did not trust the Mexican government to adequately handle Covid and I was right. Though it was also terrible in the US, I felt way safer being here during the pandemic," commented one expat who made the move to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
