Are there any special precautions people should take when renting a property in Playa Jaco?
We asked expats in Playa Jaco about any special precautions they should take when renting a property in Playa Jaco. They said....
"Before renting a home in Playa Jaco, an expat should be aware of the local laws and regulations regarding rental agreements. It is important to research the area and the rental market to ensure that the rental property is in a safe and secure location. Additionally, it is important to understand the cost of living in the area, including utilities, taxes, and other fees. It is also important to be aware of the local culture and customs, as well as the availability of public transportation and other amenities. Finally, it is important to be aware of the availability of medical care and other services in the area," remarked another expat in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica.
"I would suggest visiting the property at all times of the day and night prior to renting. Make special note of close nightclubs, active bars, noisy neighborhoods, nearby construction. Is the security alert and responsive? Does the immediate neighborhood appear safe and well kept? If you do not have a car, are you able to freely walk to banks, stores and shops?," said a member in Playa Jaco (Jaco Beach), Costa Rica.
