What are the visa & residency requirements in Guangzhou?

Answer this Question

We asked people about the visa & residency requirements in Guangzhou, they wrote...

"In order to visit Guangzhou, travellers must first obtain a visa either from a Chinese embassy or through a third-party visa service. To apply for a visa, prospective visitors must submit a valid passport, a visa application form, and documents demonstrating their intent to leave China within the duration of their visa. If a visitor intends to stay in Guangzhou longer than the duration of their visa, they must apply for residency abroad. The process for obtaining residency first requires an applicant to obtain a physical residence permit from a Chinese embassy, consulate, or public security agency. The applicant must submit a valid passport, visa, and other necessary documents to demonstrate identity and reason for residency. The applicant may also need to provide proof of a criminal background check and residency registration. Finally, the applicant will also likely be required to submit photos, health screenings, and other personal information. Once all necessary documents are approved, the applicant will received the relevant residency permit and can legally stay in Guangzhou," explained one expat living in Guangzhou, China.
