In order to apply for residency in Batam, Indonesia, applicants must first obtain a temporary stay permit (KITAS). To apply for a KITAS, applicants must submit a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a passport-sized photograph, proof of sufficient funds, and a letter of recommendation from an Indonesian sponsor. Once the KITAS is approved, applicants must then apply for a permanent stay permit (KITAP).
