What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Ghana?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees what they find the most challenging about retiring in Ghana. They wrote...

"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Ghana is the lack of a comprehensive pension system. Many retirees rely on their savings or family support to make ends meet. Additionally, the cost of living in Ghana is relatively high, making it difficult for retirees to stretch their savings. Healthcare can also be a challenge, as the public healthcare system is often inadequate and private healthcare can be expensive. Finally, the lack of access to quality leisure activities can make retirement in Ghana a lonely and isolating experience," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Ghana.
