"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Guatemala is the language barrier. Although Spanish is the official language, many people in Guatemala also speak indigenous languages, which can make it difficult for non-native speakers to communicate. Additionally, the cost of living in Guatemala is relatively low, but the quality of life may not be as high as in other countries. Healthcare can also be a challenge, as the public healthcare system is not as well-developed as in other countries. Finally, the infrastructure in Guatemala is not as advanced as in other countries, which can make it difficult to access certain services," wrote a member who made the move to Guatemala.
