"The cost of living in Japan can vary depending on the city and lifestyle. Generally, rent and food costs tend to be higher than in other countries, while transportation and entertainment costs are relatively low. In addition, Japan has a wide variety of goods and services available, so it is possible to find something to fit any budget," said another expat in Japan.
