If you have not spent a lot of time in El Salvador, you should rent before even thinking about buying. We asked expats there about the buy vs. rent decision...

"Buying a home in El Salvador can be a great investment, as the country has a growing economy and real estate market. However, it is important to consider the cost of living in El Salvador, as well as the cost of purchasing a home. Renting a home in El Salvador can be a more affordable option, and it can also provide more flexibility if you are not sure how long you will be living in the country. Ultimately, the decision to buy or rent a home in El Salvador should be based on your individual needs and financial situation," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to El Salvador.

"Bought a house, same process as in Canada, have a lawyer make sure everything is done properly," commented one expat who made the move to La Libertad, El Salvador.
