If you are thinking about moving to Costa Rica, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing...

"It depends on how close you want to be to the water. Are you willing to live in the surrounding area like Huacus or Villareal? It can be anywhere from $600 to thousands," remarked another expat in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

"The cost of housing in Costa Rica can vary significantly depending on the size and location of the property. Generally, the average cost of a single-family home in Costa Rica can range from around $100,000 to well over $1 million for luxury homes, with smaller homes and apartments located in desirable areas costing approximately between $50,000 and $150,000. Living costs and rental prices tend to be higher in major cities such as San Jose, while the coastal areas and smaller towns offer more affordable opportunities," said a member in Costa Rica.
