If you are thinking about moving to Netherlands, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing...

"The cost of housing in The Netherlands is generally quite high compared to other countries in Europe. The average monthly rent for a house in the Netherlands is usually between 800 and 1,600 Euros, depending on the area and size. In addition, it is usually necessary to make a deposit of at least 1-2 months rent and pay 3 to 4 months’ rent in advance," remarked another expat in Netherlands.

"Housing is cheaper than in large cities in the US, but is not cheap. In my experience, however, I am happy with what I pay. My apartment is small, but I live in one of the best neighborhoods in Rotterdam and I can afford to live alone. In NY, I had to share an apartment with someone I'd just met," said a member in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
