What do I need to know before moving to Saint Lucia?
When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Saint Lucia, they said...
"Before moving to Saint Lucia, expats should be aware that English is the official language, although a French-based Creole is also widely spoken. Expats should also be aware that the currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD), and that the cost of living is generally higher than in other Caribbean countries. Additionally, expats should be aware that the climate is tropical, with temperatures ranging from 24-32°C year-round. Finally, expats should be aware that the healthcare system is generally good, although private healthcare is recommended for more serious medical issues," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Saint Lucia.
