We asked expats in Canada what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Canada, expats should consider their financial situation, researching the cost of living in the areas they are considering and the availability of pension and health insurance programs. It is also important to consider the cold climate, making sure to identify the right area that is suitable for winter living. Expats should look for job opportunities available for work after retirement and check the immigration requirements for entry and residency. Moving to Canada also means understanding the culture, making sure to research local customs and cultural norms. Finally, expats should take the time to make connections with locals, taking advantage of networking opportunities, language classes and community involvement," wrote a member who made the move to Canada.

"I have maintained my UK bank accounts and credit cards as it is useful when buying Christmas or birthday presents from web sites in the UK. I opened an account in Canada at Bank of Montreal and Scotiabank, and they are both excellent banks," explained one expat living in Ontario, Canada.
