As a foreigner living in Switzerland, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Switzerland if they have access to public healthcare in Switzerland. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"Yes, as a foreigner living in Switzerland, you will have access to public healthcare. The Swiss healthcare system is considered one of the best in the world, and is funded by both public and private sources. The public healthcare system provides comprehensive coverage for medical services, including preventive care, hospitalization, and long-term care. The quality of care is generally high, and the cost of services is relatively low compared to other countries. Additionally, the Swiss government provides subsidies to help cover the cost of healthcare for those who cannot afford it," wrote a member who made the move to Switzerland.
