Are foreigners allowed to own property in Tanzania?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Tanzania if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Tanzania. However, they are not allowed to own land, as this is reserved for Tanzanian citizens. Foreigners can own buildings, such as houses, apartments, and commercial buildings, as long as they have a valid residence permit. They must also obtain permission from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development before they can purchase a property," commented one expat who made the move to Tanzania.
