When we asked expats in Belize if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are permitted to purchase property in Belize. Foreigners in Belize are entitled to full ownership rights over property, including the right to live permanently in Belize, as long as certain requirements are met. Foreigners are required to apply for and obtain permission from the government prior to purchasing property, as well as provide background information, including financial information. Additionally, foreigners must buy their property with foreign currency, as the Belize currency could not be used to purchase property," said another in Belize.

"No, I don't believe so. Belize is a welcoming country...at least where we live anyway," explained one expat who made the move to Sittee River, Belize.
