Are foreigners allowed to own property in Cyprus?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Cyprus if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Cyprus. Non-Cypriot citizens are allowed to purchase property in Cyprus, provided they obtain the necessary permits from the Ministry of Interior. Foreigners are also allowed to purchase land in Cyprus, but they must obtain a permit from the Council of Ministers. In addition, foreign investors are allowed to purchase property in Cyprus through a company registered in Cyprus. However, they must obtain a permit from the Ministry of Finance," wrote a member who made the move to Cyprus.
