Are foreigners allowed to own property in Somalia?

"Foreigners are not allowed to own property in Somalia. The Somali Constitution does not recognize foreign ownership of land or property. The only way for a foreigner to own property in Somalia is to purchase it through a Somali citizen or company. This is done through a lease agreement, which allows the foreign investor to use the property for a certain period of time. The lease agreement must be approved by the Somali government before it can be enforced," remarked another expat who made the move to Somalia.
