When we asked expats in Moldova if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Moldova. According to the Moldovan Law on Property, foreign citizens and stateless persons are allowed to own real estate in Moldova, provided that they have a valid residence permit. Foreigners may also purchase land in Moldova, but they must obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. Additionally, foreign investors may purchase shares in Moldovan companies, but they must obtain a special permit from the National Bank of Moldova," explained one expat living in Moldova.
