What is a Borderless Account?

A borderless account is a bit like having local accounts all over the world.

It's a multi-currency account that lets you keep money in 40+ currencies, and convert between them at the real exchange rate whenever you need.

You also get a TransferWise debit Mastercard, personal account numbers, and bank details for USD, GBP, EUR and AUD (with more currencies on the way). Share these details to your friends, companies or customers in the US, UK, and the Eurozone to receive money from around the world.

How is TransferWise up to 8x cheaper than a bank?

We believe in fairness and transparency. It's at the heart of everything we do.

So, to be sure we're building a product that is truly better for our customers, we asked an independent research company to run a study to compare whether our borderless account is quicker, cheaper and easier to use than high street banks.

In January 2018, we commissioned the 3rd party research company Consumer Intelligence to run an independent study comparing our borderless account to 21 bank accounts around the world. Additional data research was conducted in March 2018 and on an ongoing basis since then to ensure accurate and up to date information.
