Each year I give up something(s) for the Catholic period called Lent. For the past two years I have decided to abstain from shopping and strictly "go local" by shopping at the local bakala behind my house. A bakala is a small, local convenience store. This blog is a comical look at the challenges that I encounter as well as a document of the money I save.
