Born in the UK, I lived for over 20 years in Ontario, Canada where, for much of that time, I operated an equestrian facility whilst writing for several equine publications. However, when I eventually returned to the UK writing became my main source of income and my involvement with horses was, increasingly, more for pleasure than profit.
It's no secret that a writer's income can be 'flexible', to say the least and maintaining a home in Britain on what I could comfortably earn became increasingly difficult. Enter Bulgaria.
This blog, Buggering Off To Bulgaria, is giving me the opportunity to chronicle my new way of living whilst sharing the ups and downs of life in this beautiful - if somewhat eccentric - country.
