Where to live in Melbourne???

Hi
My fiance has been offered a job in Melbourne and we are seriously considering the move. I have 2 children ages 8 and 6 which im a bit worried about. I have never been to australia so dont know any areas, schools etc. Could anyone suggest any nice areas of Melbourne which is good for families, has good schools, a low crime rate and not far from the beach???? Not asking for much am i lol???
