Speaker:
Sister Brigid is a trained primary and secondary teacher who has taught in country Victoria and Melbourne and has been a Secondary school Principal for many years. She sees education as the way to make the most impact on the kind of opportunities young people have in life.

Sister Brigid is also the Coordinator of the Brigidine Asylum Seekers' Project which takes various initiatives to assist refugees and asylum seekers. This project supports some asylum seekers who are on Bridging visas - who cannot work and who do not receive any assistance whatsoever from the government. Visits the Maribyrnong Detention Centre and tries to assist those detained in practical ways.
