Retirement visa, but business conducted outside Belize

Hello everybody,
A question: A retirement visa presumes you are not earning money in Belize, unless you invest $500K+ to found your own business.
Can a person have a retirement visa in Belize, while making some money OUTSIDE of Belize (a freelancer job)? Or will it be a violation of retirement visa?
