I don’t know whether to laugh, or cry. I invite you to share this missive from EPS Sanitas reminding me not to delay payment of my monthly cotizacion if I want to avoid a penalty.
Why do I find this so astonishing”
Well, perhaps because EPS Sanitas, and all the other EPS’s, are not exactly the best examples of efficiency in Colombia themselves?
Or perhaps it could be that we have spent most of today TRYING to make EPS payments without any success. Why am I surprised, this happens every year!! For the last few days I have tried to pay this month’s cotizacion by internet but the systems have been “systematically” down. And we did not stop there, we went and queued up at the Sanitas offices with hundreds of others who were apparently having similar problems.
Oh, by the way, the payment Sanitas are pushing me to pay on time is NOT the basic, minimum salary based cotisation (about Cop 103,000 per month), it is a cotisation that most forum members insist does not exist – one based on my entire income (pensions and investment incomes, etc). Yes, I know, nobody will believe me, I must be making it up because all the other forum members have never met anybody who pays more than the minimum salary rate.

En EPS Sanitas nos complace que cuentes con nosotros como tu aliado en salud. En esta oportunidad queremos informarte que de acuerdo a los dos últimos dígitos de tu número de identificación, la fecha límite de pago para el periodo de cotización de Diciembre de 2019 es el 09 de Enero de 2020.
Por eso te invitamos a realizar el aporte dentro de la fecha establecida, con el fin de evitar el pago de intereses por mora y así seguir disfrutando de los servicios que brinda el Plan de Beneficios de Salud.
Lo anterior de acuerdo con el Decreto 780 de 2016 Articulo 3.2.2.1.
