Seek advise on bringing a car from California to Germany

We are interested to learn about this, as we like to have our car in Germany, how to go about it? do we need to change it for German TUV? do we have to pay custom for our personal car? can we drive her up to one year ( or sometime?) without that? - your advise is appreciated! Thank you!
