Renting in metro manila

Hi there, I'm moving to the Philippines for 6 months later this year. I'm going to be working in Quezon City mostly so am just wondering how much I would expect to pay to rent a flat/room in or near the diliman area? From what I've been reading it's pretty easy to find a place to stay for around 8,000php by just replying to posters on the street - is this true?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
