Greetings,
I am an Algerian who leaves in the USA. It is very sad that the Algerian government does not address the extremely important issue of schooling the kids of the Algerian diaspora and also those of foreigners who, for whatever reason, decide to move to Algeria. At times, I come to the conclusion that it is done on purpose to keep Algerian brains away from their motherland...I am presently a school administrator in the USA, and every time I go back home to visit, I try to contact the department of education, and I cannot even get someone to speak to me -not even on the phone. It is simply a disaster! No wonder, millions of people are now on the streets claiming their country and dignity back...I do commend you for your courage of homeschooling your kids. Bravo! I feel that it should be a right; because nobody knows what is better for kids, than the kids' parents...Third world has nothing to do with money (I have seen mansions in Algeria that do not exist in the USA); it is rather a mentality that is stuck in the past. As a matter of fact, 80 years old are in charge of 20 years and they expect the communication to flow; when the former does not even know how turn a Chromebook on...My kids were born in the USA and the disastrous conditions of the educational system, in Algeria, is the main reason we cannot move back home. I do know dozens of Algerian scientists who leave in Europe, Asia, and America; and cannot move back home because of the same roadblock. Even though it is so easy to fix. Needless to say that be fixing the educational system will allow thousands of very highly qualified men of science to go back to Algeria and put it on the right track...
Best,
Ahmed aka Hamoudi.

Hi and thanks so much for reaching out!

It's great to find a family that homeschools. Do you know other families that homeschool? In which city are you located?

Is there online testing available for homeschooled children or how do they get assessed?

Also do you know expat families from Germany? It would be nice to get in touch with other families from Germany.

Thanks so much for your time!
