How does the Bahamian government determine your car's value if you decide to import your car?

We both have our own vehicles and they are paid for here in the states and we would like to keep them. But we don't want to basically pay for them all over again at 85% duty either. And we don't want to buy a pile of junk there for $20000 either.

Any advice would be appreciated.
