Is it really worth it ship?

Hi, I have a new job in Bermuda and need to get opinions on whether to ship electrical items such as coffee makers, hairdryers, tvs, and other items such as pots, utensils, dishes, etc....
Is it worth the duty I will have to pay?

Is it worth it to ship my vehicle? Can I even bring my vehicle?

Signed,
Bermuda bound

You will have 90 days after you land in which to get your stuff into Bermuda duty free (assuming it's more than six months old).

Remember that the electricity is 110V, so if you're coming from the UK (for example), your components probably won't work unless you also buy a step-up transformer.

Thank you! Question, how do you prove that your belongings are 6 months old? How do they differentiate from older items to newer ones? Is it as simple as wear and tear?

I'm basing the following on personal experience, so no guarantees, but ...

It's down to Bermuda Customs whether or not they question you. If you have stuff which looks valuable and new, they may ask you to provide receipts to prove its age.

As long as your soft items look used / washed / worn, you're probably OK with those.

Shiny new electrical items (phones, laptops, TVs etc) will be your biggest concern. If you have receipts, you'll have no issues.
