I have a rather specific questions. Does anyone know how Chile treats foreigners with an expunged misdemeanor for 'child endangerment'? Either entering as a tourist, or in the case of applying for Residency. I am European. But my conviction took place in the California.
(just to be clear, this is not child rape or abuse - as that would obviously be a felony)
I realize it can be extremely case dependent. But I would like to get an idea of the situation.
The only way to know is to order your FBI file and also your local national criminal database and see if it shows up. Often, misdemeanors do not, but they can. Anything to do with a child, sexual or violent offences, drugs, etc. I would think would be rather dicey, Perhaps an attorney familiar with these matters and is connected to the Chilean judicial system could give you a better idea. Good luck...
