Where to start?

I'm new to considering a move to Chile. I've done some standard googling, but what sorts of advice did you wish you had when you started your immigration journey? I currently work for a very large multinational database giant that has offices in Las Condes, and probably elsewhere. What sorts of jobs would be available for a 50 year old java senior engineer that's done just a little bit of everything in his career from infrastructure to front ends? I don't have a feel for the tech industry in Chile at all. Where would I begin to familiarize myself?
