After the election

La Registraduría Nacional de Colombia Has confirmed the results of the election and Abelardo de la Espriella is now officially president elect. Unfortunately, Gustavo Petro is still refusing to accept the results and is making unfounded allegations of fraud and claiming foreign interference in the election based on nothing more than Trump’s endorsement of de la Espriella.
Ivan Cepeda has scheduled a speech for 9 am mañana. I’ve found him to be a little more measured than Petro. Hopefully he will use his speech to concede his defeat and call for his followers to accept the results. It could be very dangerous if he takes the same path as Petro instead. Petro remains president for a few more months and can do a lot to disrupt the transition.
