Mother to be contemplating Costa Rica

I'm currently a single mother to be, due in September. My mother has a condo in guanacaste and spends half of her time there. I am thinking about having the baby there. Has anyone had the experience of giving birth in CR? Also wondering about the availability and cost of baby items such as cribs, etc. Any baby stores in San Jose?
