Living and Working in Cyprus

I am thinking of moving to Cyprus sometime at the begining of 2009. Looking for advice on best areas to live, renting & buying property and work either in an office as a PA or Beauty Therapist which I am fully qualified in. I also have pets I would bring over with me. Any advice would be helpful
