Driver's License

OK, this is a very specific question for anyone out there who has tried this...

I'm moving from Texas to Germany. After researching the laws for getting a German driver's license, I've discovered that the rules for qualifying for one there w/out having to take a driving test, etc. depend on the state from which your U.S. driver's license is from. Mine is obviously from Texas. And that means I get to take the full written and driving tests.

HOWEVER, if you come from one of a list of approved states, you don't have to take a test at all. It's just a matter of exchanging your U.S. driver's license for a German one. My brother lives in Arizona, and I'm thinking about flying out there to get an Arizona driver's license. Arizona driver's license = German driver's license.

Here's my question: Texas doesn't have a state income tax, and Arizona does. Has anyone out there moved to Germany and actually done what I'm considering? My fear is that all of a sudden I'll be saddled w/ having to complete an AZ state income tax form every year.
