Residency Papers

I'm interested in moving to Europe, specifically Germany. I am self employed in the US and provide professional services to clients all over the world. Does anyone know if I will be able to get residency papers for longer than 3 months if I'm continuing to work with clients in the US but living in Germany?

Any help would be appreciated.
