Moving from Anaheim to Munich

I will be moving with my family to my wife's hometown near Munich before the end of the year. We will probably be there for at least a year or two, taking advantage of some orthopedic therapies for my son. If I cannot find a job without being fluent in German, I will try to work from home while watching the kids after school.

Since this may not be a permanent move, we are weighing the costs between storing all of our stuff for an extended period of time, or shipping it all over there, or selling most of it and starting over yet again. (We've tried this once before, but now have the motivation of staying long term.) Any advice would be appreciated.
