Car Insurance

Hi, I purchased an Old car- 96 Model. The insurance offer I got is heavy - 800¬ per year ( Only liability cover). This is where I have got the Deckungskarte for registering the car. I have two questions: Is it a must that I have to get the car isurance from the same Insurance company?
2 Does this cost changes with company to company? Any knowledge of an insurance company who can offer a cheaper isurance?
