I need some tips to sell my car in Germany especially to an unknown person. I have few questions on the steps.
These are the steps I think:
- Show the vehicle to the people
- Get an agreement on Price
- Make a contract in the prescribed form and sign by both me and the person
- Get the money from him
- Give the vehicle papers to the person
- Give the keys to the person.
o Here is the confusion. The vehicle is in my name and the insurance also. How can he drive the vehicle when he does not have insurance?
o Is it not a risk to me?
o How did you manage this when you sold your car?
Now I think the next step is
I have to do Abmeldung. (Or should I do abmeldung before)
For doing Abmeldung, what should I carry to Registration office? – The contract and copies of the Vehicle would be enough?
