After reading a bit about the celebration of Carnival in Cologne, it is hard for me to separate what is the "touristy" way and what the locals do. Is there a difference? I hope to participate in 2015-16 season and I want to be ready! What should I wear? Which parades are the best? Do they have balls like Mardi Gras in New Orleans (USA)? If so, how can one get an invitation? What are the costs involved? Any tips? Tricks? Thanks for your input!
