Bus System in Kuwait

I moved here recently and am having some trouble getting around. Taxis are really expensive as my regular transportation, so I want to try the bus system. Is it safe? I tried to look online and find the bus schedules but it was difficult to find info...and I'm wondering if they even run on the schedule. Any advice or sites where I can access the info would be appreciated.

I have transportation to/from work, mainly I'm trying to get from Salmiya to the National Evangelical Church on the weekends.
