Renting a car

We are thinking of renting a car for 5 weeks in May and also want to look into buying a sateillite navgation system, does any one know what make and model works in Panama.

I recall the garmin nuvi are suppose to be good, and that panama maps can be uploaded here.

Also if anyone can recommend getting a car, insurance please let me know.
