Relocating

My wife and I are thinking of relocating in 2015 and are looking around now so that we can start planning.
I would like to know more about the weather in Panama, specialy the temperature in different parts-we are seeking for a cooler climate, but near water. So this could be near a lake.
Are there many bugs there?
We were there in 2009 and went to Bamboa, Boquete and Bocas del Toro...all beautiful places.
My wife would like to live near the sea but I have a feeling it will be too warm there for her, we need someplace that's cooler.
